About Internationally Educated
Internationally Educated assists students and their families through the selection and application process for United States universities. Debbie Shively, founder of Internationally Educated is a Sydney-based expert in the field of US higher education including college admission. Her career includes Assistant Director of Admissions at Menlo College, the business school of Silicon Valley in Atherton, California as well as 1.5 years volunteering at EducationUSA through the US State Department at the US Consulate whilst undertaking a Masters in International Studies at the University of Sydney. She has subsequently worked with both Australian and US universities in admissions, marketing, and operations, completed a College Counselling Certificate from University of California San Diego and is a member of the International Association for College Admission Counselling. Debbie has worked in the international education field for over 17 years. During this time she has led admission review committees and read thousands of student applications for admission.
Debbie also serves as a volunteer counsellor to a Matchlighters Scholarship student as well as ScholarMatch students in the United States. Both organisations support underserved, first generation secondary school students by providing individualised guidance in the university application process, targeted financial support, and career counselling.
Higher education in the US can be overwhelming as there are over 4,000 degree granting institutions to consider. There is no national system of higher education nor is there a centralised application process in the US. Internationally Educated was created to reduce the stress and eliminate the confusion of applying to US Universities. We take great care to ensure best fit institutions are identified for each student and lead them and their families through to a successfully completed application process.
